Free Water / Sewer Connections to County Owned Systems! Nash County is working on identifying citizens who are located along existing water and sewer lines who qualify for an almost complete free connection to our system (see attached Press Release and Letter Soliciting Hook-Ups for detailed information). We are applying for Federal Assistance to do this project but have a very short time period to apply. Therefore, please contact Nash County Public Utilities (Cyndy Wells) at 252-462-2436 by February 13, 2012 if interested. There are many benefits of connecting to County water and we encourage you to consider this incredible opportunity.

COUNTY GOVERNMENT WORKS CAMPAIGN (Play The Game Online) County Government Works is an initiative to make the American public, who are beneficiaries of government services, and officials at other levels of government, who are partners in delivering those services, more knowledgeable and positive about the contributions of county government. The National Association of Counties (in collaboration with iCivics Inc.) has created an online game, "Counties Work," to educate students, grades 6 through 12, about the important role and functions of county government by letting them run their own county. A curriculum and web quest has also been developed to assist teachers with preparing lessons on county government. Click here to play the game.
