Caregiver Support Group On the second Tuesday of each month at 3:00pm caregivers are welcome to join in a caregiver support group at the senior center, which focuses on the caregiver and their overall well being. A monthly support group is also held at Braswell Memorial Library.
Caregiver Video Library A caregiver video library addressing needs such as: how to care for someone on bedrest, fall prevention, recognizing and preventing caregiver burnout, how to manage medications, wheelchair use, and much more are available for check-out.
Powerful Tools for Caregiving Caring for someone, especially one with a chronic illness such as dementia, heart disease, Parkinson’s disease or stroke can be stressful physically, emotionally and financially. Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a series of lessons on caring for yourself while on your caregiver journey.
Respite Service for Caregivers Registered caregivers caring for a Nash County resident can apply to receive free respite care. Services are provided on a first come first service basis and until funding has been exhausted.
Candlelight Reflections Ceremony November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month & National Family Caregiver Month. The Ceremony honors all those who have lost their lives to Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders as well as the individuals who are presently dealing with the disease. This event also recognizes the invaluable contributions of family caregivers.
