Protect Your Child from Diabetes--Join ENERGIZE Nash!

We invite you to browse through our services and to contact us if you have questions or concerns.

Our Public Health goals are:

  • to promote healthy lifestyles
  • to prevent diseases, and
  • to detect and treat health problems early

Our services reflect these goals. Our Environmental Health staff works to keep our community healthy in the most basic ways: they protect our water supplies from sewage contamination, they help ensure safe food at area restaurants through regular inspection, and much more!

Our Solid Waste program staffs 9 recycling centers for rural Nash County residents as well as a special Construction and Demolition (C&D) landfill. Our Animal Control staff prevents the spread of rabies by working with area veterinarians to offer low cost rabies vaccination opportunities.

Our Health Education staff leads us in regularly assessing our community's health needs and then in developing educational programs targeting these potential health problems. Our Clinical Staff provides health screening, treatment and/or referral for possible health problems, and investigation of communicable diseases. Our Home Health Program provides medical care for homebound residents needing skilled nursing; physical, occupational, or respiratory therapy; or Home Health Aide services.

All of these services focus on preventing public health problems! Call us for appointments or information!
