Welcome to the Nash County Register of Deeds Office

The Register of Deeds Office is provided for in the general statutes of North Carolina. Registers of Deeds are elected to four-year terms by the citizens of the county the Registrar serves. The Register of Deeds serves as custodian and manager of large numbers of public records. By law, the Register of Deeds is charged with the integrity, completeness, accuracy, and safekeeping of these public records. I, Barbara Sasser, am currently serving my fifth term as Nash County Register of Deeds.

The Nash County Register of Deeds Office has real estate records dating back to 1777. Marriage records are available since 1862. Birth and death records are available since October of 1913. All records can be searched through hard copy and online indexes. Also, some records are available through research terminals in the office.
