The premarital examination by physician is no longer required
Both bride and groom must present identification.
Applicants are required to use the following IDs:
Applicants 16 or 17 years of age must have must have parents come and sign the parental consent forms certificate in order to acquire a license. Parents must have drivers license for identification. Note: an alien admitted to the United States for residence or to engage in employment must be issued a Social Security number.
Applicants who are not eligible for Social Security number may obtain a Marriage license by signing an affidavit attesting to this fact. The affidavit is available in the Register of Deeds office.
Divorced applicants must provide the month and year of their last divorce.
The license is good immediately upon issuance and is valid for 60 days
The fee for the license is $60.00. Only cash is accepted.
These licenses are issued between the hours of 8 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Applicants should be in our office prior to 4:00 PM. Parking is in the back of the Nash County Office Building, take the elevator to the third floor and we are the first office on right.
If you need a copy of your marriage license, you may acquire them at our office in person or you may request them by mail at: PO Box 974 Nashville NC 27856. Certified copies of your marriage license are $10.00 each or $12.00 for a laminated copy.
