Reserve Program
The Nash County Sheriff's Office Reserve Program provides additional manpower to the Sheriff's Office. This group of sworn law enforcement officers, who hold full-time jobs outside the field of law enforcement, volunteer eight hours of their time each month to assist full-time deputies in the performance of their duties. Reserve deputies assist with traffic and crowd control at special events, in addition to providing additional manpower for court and patrol. The reserve officers volunteer, on average, more than 1400 hours per year -- the equivalent of $20,000 in deputies' salaries.
Community Presentations
The Deputies of the Nash County Sheriff's Office are more than just law enforcement officers. They are each a vital and integral part of the community, and believe in giving back to the community in which they also live. Many of the Deputies participate in programs and organizations such as Toys for Tots, the Boys and Girls Club of Nash/Edgecombe Counties, Shop with a Cop, etc. These same Deputies also give community presentations to various organizations and events. They provide presentations such as K9 demonstrations, gang awareness, identity theft, drug awareness, and other safety tips.
