Investigative Division

The Investigative Division consists of twelve members, including the Division Commander, Captain Pat Joyner.  It also consists of two Sergeants, one Juvenile Investigator, two Evidence Technicians and six general Investigators. The primary function of the investigative division is to investigate all reported crimes that are not cleared by the Patrol Division.

The Investigative Division utilizes the Case Management Program. Utilization of this program enables the Investigative Division to maintain a log of all reported crimes, accountability of each and every report and the disposition of each report. This program also allows for the comparison of crime statistics and clearance rates from year to year.

During the year 2008 the Investigative Division investigated 1407 cases with a 48 percent clearance rate.
During the year 2009 the Investigative Division investigated 1218 cases with a 54 percent clearance rate.
