The Patrol Division of the Nash County Sheriff's Office is comprised of thirty (30) full time deputies and (12) twelve reserve deputies. The Patrol Division is responsible for responding to calls for service from citizens of Nash county, as well as, service of all criminal warrants and all civil process to be served. The Patrol Division answered over 24,000 calls for service from citizens in 2010.
The Patrol Division has two Division Commanders, Lieutenant Todd Wells and Lieutenant Jeff Lucas. The Patrol Division is divided into four platoons, which provide twenty-four-hour service to the citizens of Nash County. Each Lieutenant is responsible for the supervision of two platoons each. Each platoon has a Sergeant and a Corporal to monitor and supervise their shift. Working under the direction of the Sergeant and Corporal, are five Deputies who respond to the calls for service from the citizens of Nash County. That means there are a total of seven Deputies on each platoon. Each platoon is also staffed with a member of the K9 Unit.
