Legally clears children for adoption, prepares children and prospective parents emotionally for placement, finds best family possible, make reports to the court and supervise adoptions after placement until the adoption is finalized. This service also provides for the recruitment, training and assessment of prospective adoptive parents. Nash County is now providing Confidential Intermediary Services for members of the adoption triad when Nash County was involved in the adoption.

Aid to the Blind:

Child Day Care Services:
The purchase of quality day care services which provides protection, care and developmental experiences to children ages birth to 13 in the child's own home, in the home of a caregiver, or in a day care facility. Enables parents to be gainfully employed, in training as well as provides a resource to prevent child abuse and neglect and out of home placement of children. Child Support:

Delinquency Prevention Services:
In home services to prevent youth 7-17 with delinquent or status offense behavior from becoming involved in or having further involvement with the juvenile court system. (High risk, ungovernable, runaways, truants, delinquent). Contact person: Amy Hamlett, (252) 459-1473
Problem Pregnancy Services:
Counseling to individuals involved with an unplanned pregnancy helping them look at alternative solutions to the pregnancy and at the possible consequences of each alternative. Preventive Services

Transportation Services

Foster Care/Permanency Planning Service for Children (click for more information)
Counseling and treatment services to children, birth families or foster families to remedy personal problems, behavior or home conditions which led to the need for out-of-home care for the children. This service also provides for the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers who serve as foster parents. Protective Services for Children
The investigation of reports of neglect, abuse or dependency of children under the age 18, evaluation of the degree of damage or risk to the child, cooperation with law enforcement agencies to obtain suitable care and services for children in or out of their own homes and initiation of court action where necessary. Work First Employment

In-Home Aide
Purchase of services for the provision of care with home management, personal care, and custodial supervision for adults who are unable to care for themselves and have no one to provide the needed care in order to remain in their own home. Contact person: Sarah Hill, (252) 459-1434
Adult Placement Services
Assistance to aging, blind or disabled adults in finding suitable licensed substitute homes when they are unable to remain in their own homes or when they need to move out of institutional care. Adult Day Care

Guardianship for Adults
