Paramedic Services
Nash County Emergency Medical Services provides emergency and non-emergency paramedic level care to a population of 96,000 in Nash County with annual call volume of approximately 22,000 calls per year.

Nash County EMS provides paramedic level emergency response, as well as non-emergency ambulance transportation services. Nash County EMS employs 78 full-time employees and 30 part-time employees. 

History
  • The service was established in 1986 with 6 employees and 2 ambulances
  • In 2003, Nash County was designated as a “Model System” by the North Carolina Office of EMS

Resources
The service works in unison with 16 volunteer and paid first responders departments to cover 100% of the county. Currently, Nash County EMS operates with:
  • Eight 24-hour ambulances
  • One quick response vehicle
  • Four non-emergency transport units
  • One assistant supervisor and one supervisor on quick response vehicles
