Nash County Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of special events and activities for your enjoyment. Some of these great events include our Daddy Daughter Dance, Easter Egg Hunt, Outdoor Movie Night, and Calls from Santa. Nash County Parks and Recreation is constantly working on creating new events, so check back often to see what we've got coming up!

Upcoming Events

Summer Camps:
*Pre-registration is required for all camps*

Pre-Kindergarten Sports Fun Camp (Ages 3-5) - June 13-17 1:00 - 4:00 pm
A sports camp designed to focus on the basic fundamentals of all sports. We will work on running, throwing, catching, jumping, dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and most importantly team work and sportsmanship.

British Soccer Camp (Ages 3-16) - June 27 - July 1
This camp will feature the 1,00 Touches Curriculum, packed with drills and practices designed to improve individual ball control, foot skills, fakes, and moves! Make this soccer experience even more special by hosting one of the professional British coaches during the week of the camp! Host families not only provide a memorable learning experience for their children, but also receive an $80.00 rebate towards the cost of camp!

Preschool School Readiness Camp (Ages 4-5) - August 1-5 1:00 - 4:00 pm
We will practice circle time, art, music, physical education, and more. We will practice working as a team and learning togeather as friends.

Doll Camp (Ages 6-12) - June 27 - July 1 1:00 -5:00 pm
Each girl will need to bring her favorite doll which we will be making 2 craft projects for daily. Each day will have a different theme to focus on. 

Teen Ballroom & Etiquette Camp (Ages 13-17) - July 11-15 1:00 - 5:00 pm
Teens will learn the benefits of ballroom dance. We will learn 6 ballroom dances. In the etiquette portion, we will learn dressing for success, interview skills, table settings and manners, and skills needed to navigate as they journey from teen to adult.

Splish Splash Preschool Art Camp (Ages 3-5) - August 8-12 9:00 - 12:00 pm
Come along with Ms. Maureen and sail the seven seas as we create many art projects, learn about pirates and explore under sea life.

Ooey Gooey Recycle Camp (Ages 5-8) - August 8-12 1:00 - 4:00 pm
Come along with instructor Maureen Seltzer as we learn to take what some people call trash and turn it into treasure. We will be using old newspapers to do papier-mache' projects as well as using Jell-O as a printing plate to learn about printmaking.

Youth Activities:

Preschool Programs
We are now offering "Sports Time for Toddlers", "Preschool Movement and Music Time", Preschool Creative Dance Movement", "Toddler Art", "Preschool Art", and "Tiny Ballerinas". Get more information here.

One Day Workshops
Join in on some fun learning about mono printing on a Jell-O plate. Each person will go home with a Jell-O plate that they can continue to play with at home for weeks!

Learn some new dance moves, get fit, or just enjoy some company. Check out these
new programs for our Seniors!

Seniors Pickelball
Pickleball is a wonderfull fitness and social activity that combines the elements of 
tennis, table tennis, and badminton. It is played on a smaller version of a tennis court.
No experience is necessary, and equipment is provided.

Walking for Seniors
This program promotes wellness and physical activity for seniors. Walking and exercising 30 minutes a day will reduce levels of stress, high blood pressure, cholesterol, risk of heart disease, and weight. Join us at Spaulding Gym to get healthy and fit!
